Your cars cooling system is the key component to keeping your engine running. If your radiator is on the brink of breakdown then eventually your car will stop working completely and it won’t be a cheap fix!
If your temperature gauge is running hotter than usual, or continuously creeping up even whilst sitting in traffic then there is likely an issue with your radiator. If you act quickly you may be able to save your radiator from completely breaking down.
If your fan is getting louder then it’s a sign your radiator is in trouble and having to work extra hard to keep cool. You shouldn’t be able to noticeably hear your fan working overtime!
If you notice liquid under your vehicle then this may be a sign of a leak. Dab the liquid with a paper towel to see what colour it is, if it’s green then it is your coolant and signals a leak, which will have detrimental effects on your radiators ability to keep cool!
If you notice any of these signs it is best to get your car looked at by a mechanic ASAP to reduce the risk of costly repairs, or a total breakdown!
A timely repair will reduce your repair bill and the risk of further damage to other components of your engine and will ensure the safety of your vehicle!
